1st LutherConference: The freedom of a Christian in economic life - Would Martin Luther be a capitalist or an opponent of globalisation today?
This was the (somewhat polemically formulated) title of the 1st LutherConference, which was organised by the International Martin Luther Foundation - together with the Evangelische Akademie zu Berlin and the Deutscher Sparkassen- und Giroverband. As part of a ceremony, the "LutherRose for Social and Corporate Responsibility" was awarded to Dr. h.c. Heinz-Horst Deichmann. The event took place on the occasion of the 525th anniversary of the reformer's birth on 10 November 2008 in the French Cathedral on Berlin's Gendarmenmarkt.
The International Martin Luther Foundation would like to thank the Deutschen Sparkassen- und Giroverband, for their comprehensive support of the Luther Conference and the ceremony.
