For I know him, that he will command his childen and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment; that the lord may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.

Interpretation of Martin Luther ...

EntrepreneurialCourage

The meme “civil courage” which is prevalent today, first appeared in France around the middle of the eighteenth century as courage civil, meaning the courage of an individual to express their displeasure about something regardless of possible disadvantages for themselves.

The International Martin Luther Stiftung wishes to build on the impressive history and significance of this idea by introducing and popularising a new concept based on the notion of civil courage. To this end we have developed the concept Entrepreneurial Courage. This word should define, motivate and encourage all that we wish to see connected with it, i.e. courage and responsibility in business.

Entrepreneurial Courage, when interpretted and practised in this way, is one of the important mental and politically-ethical preconditions of a civil society rooted in freedom and democracy.

Entrepreneurial Courage forms the innovative and inalienable basis for values not only for the award of the LutherRose but also for the work of the International Martin Luther Stiftung as well as the JugendUnternimmt – summer school which we initiated and organise.
